Diabetes

Diabetes is going to be the new global epidmic or so recent medical projections are showing. I was thinking of targeting drugs towards diabetes causing agents such as adipose tissue rather than trying to force insulin metabolism or giving secondary sources of insulin--applicable to type II. Today there was news about beta cell transplants to cure diabetes. This technique has potential but in my opinion still has to answer for two major shortcomings:
1. It mostly addresses Type I diabetes only
2. Transplant rejection has not yet been dealt with by good match detection methods.
