Familial hypocrisy

"Respect your family, honor them. We are the lucky ones who still have a strong family support system in our culture". We have the culture, we have the system that we proudly show off to all and sundry but is it all golden inside as it appears on the exterior? Or is it like the apple that is bright and red on the outside and rotting brown on the inside? Hypocrisy runs in a continuous thread in our revered system. A family denotes a unit, a trusted circle of people and yet we shroud it with politics and mystery. Is it worth it? Is life not complex enough that we want to fill it with many more of our own making?
